I've wanted to change the oil in the Impreza's transmission and differential for a couple of months. The manual trans and rear diff both take 75w90 and it isn't the cheapest stuff. It's a synthetic and will last up to 30k miles or 50k kms.
Getting this little bit of maintenance done helps keep things in check. The Impreza is in pretty good overall condition, except the leaking head gasket. Not only the small coolant leak, now there is oil leaking from the same gasket. The leaks are very slow and will hold out over the winter. Not like I don't have a spare engine or two ;)
