David Erickson is a lifelong educator who longs to see God’s people recognize that how we live out our faith imparts theology to others. He holds a Ph.D. in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and previously served as a pastor before spending fourteen years equipping pastors, missionaries, and lay leaders as a professor of Systematic and Historical Theology at a Baptist seminary. In 2023 he was elected the president of Jacksonville College, one of the last Christian junior colleges in the nation. Since that time, he has led the college to transition to a bachelor-level school and initiated a work-service program that integrates learning with labor while enabling students to graduate without student loans.

Along with his wife, Amanda, David co-founded Flourishing Homes and Families, a ministry that equips and empowers Christian parents to lead their families with grace and gentleness through parenting principles that are rooted in the teaching of Jesus and backed by modern neuroscience. Together they wrote the bestselling books, The Flourishing Family: A Jesus-Centered Guide to Parenting with Peace and Purpose and The Flourishing Family Study Guide: A Six-Week Guide to Jesus-Centered Parenting with Peace and Purpose.

David and Amanda, along with their two sons, live in the rural pineywoods of East Texas in an intentionally multi-generational home that enables them to practically live out the command “to honor your father and mother.”
