A shelter-in-place alert has been issued on the University of Massachusetts’ Lowell campus as police investigate reports of a man carrying a gun. Emergency alerts sent to students said police are looking for a “5-foot-5 Asian male wearing a gray or white sweatshirt and black shorts carrying a long weapon.
