Hello and welcome to the Aaron Engineering channel. Today video is a viewer request from my former TAFE student (apprentice) @Sumpa_Phuntsok. This video will demonstrate the "Angular Approach" method to cut a 60 degree metric thread. It will also provide the math on how to ascertain the thread depth and corrected angle length when using the compound feed.
Note: Both methods of threading (plunge & angular approach) is taught to most apprentices in Australian TAFE college. The information used for this video came from the (green) Fitting & Machining Textbook. Refer to pages 297-299 for the thread cutting information.
