Описание: In Hebrews 11 verse 13 we read these words about Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and their wives. These all died in faith not having received the promises, but having seen them far off, and where persuaded of them, and embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Listen to the concluding words of that verse, they confessed, they admitted, they understood that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. A stranger, I do not belong, a pilgrim, I am passing through. God’s people are to be strangers and pilgrims on the earth. We do not belong, because we are God’s people, and God’s people do not belong in a sinful world. We are pilgrims passing through. Why am I saying this? I want to apply that to the Sabbath and to those who have been made holy by God. When God made Adam and Eve, the Sabbath day did not exist yet. It came shortly thereafter. But God made them holy even though there were six secular days that already existed. God could have made them secular to be consistent with the secular days, but he made them holy, then made a holy Sabbath day for them. How should a holy person survive during six secular days. To a certain degree we must also say regarding those days we are pilgrims, we are passing through hastily towards the seventh day which long to see. How can you and I deal with all the activities that are part of the six secular days? Because we live in a world that has little interest in God. Here is my recommendation. Treat all your duties as if they are holy duties. Notice I said, as if. This ‘as if’ principle is biblical. There were several ceremonial sabbaths, the first day of the feast of the leavened bread was to be treated as a ceremonial sabbath. The seventh day of that same feast, because it ran for seven days, was to be treated as a ceremonial sabbath. They were not the creation Sabbath. Absolutely not. But there were to be treated as a Sabbath from a ceremonial standpoint. Apply that, my dear friend, to your life during the six secular days. View all your activities as holy activities, approach them that way, in that way you are in a certain sense constantly in a holy environment. As you, a holy person, you are converted person, weight for the arrival of that blessed holy Sabbath day. If you are a banker, treat your duties as holy. If you’re a student in medical school, law school, dental school, architecture, whatever it may be, plumbing, treat that as a holy duty. If you are a stay-at-home parent, a very noble work, treat that, surely as a holy duty. All activities during the six secular days treat them as holy, the same way the Israelites treated ceremonial sabbaths as holy days, as you and I wait in anticipation for the arrival of the holy Sabbath day. My dear friend, as you keep the Sabbath holy, remember, there is only one holy day, six secular days, but the approach, your duties during the secular days as holy duties. May the Lord bless you, doubly bless your lovely children as you keep the Sabbath holy and as you conduct yourself on the secular days as though your duties were holy duties. Happy Sabbath, and God bless you.
