When debating Dr. Jay on the question “Is Islam relevant for the 20th century?” Bhutto claimed:
“I am relevant. I can do what you can do. Therefore, Islam is relevant.”

Dr. Jay cut through the rhetoric:
“Can you drink wine like I can? Can you eat pork like I can? Are you redefining Islam by what you choose to do? No—Islam is defined by this book,” pointing to the Quran.

This fallacy—defining Islam by personal opinion instead of the Quran—is one Muslims commit constantly. They borrow freedoms from Christianity and the West, claiming Islam allows them, even when the Quran forbids it.

This series will expose the tricks, tactics, and logical fallacies Muslims use to defend Islam—and equip you to answer them effectively.
