The Election Commission of Pakistan's decision to reject the SIC's allocation of reserved seats for women and minorities was challenged by the SIC.

A five-member larger bench of the Peshawar High Court, headed by Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and including Justices Ijaz Anwar, S.M. Attique Shah, Shakeel Ahmed, and Syed Arshad Ali, heard the plea.
