Описание: John Lyall, Billy Bonds, Tony Gale, Bobby Moore... all treated appallingly by the club over the years. Now you can add the names of Alvin Martin and Ronnie Boyce to that list. Martin, 21 years' service, Cup Winner, 2nd division title winner, captain in our best season...slapped with a bill by the club after his testimonial for use of the stadium. Boyce, 36 years' service, scorer of the winning goal in the 1964 cup final, cup-winners' cup final winner, laid off with a measly ten grand and a second-hand motor. Harry Redknapp is unlikely to have been involved in either decision, but it sounds hypocritical to beg Alvin not to retire as the team struggles without him. With Martin in the side West Ham win at Bolton and at home to QPR and Southampton and get a goalless draw against Liverpool. Without him they concede 11 in 3 games at Blackburn, Everton and Middlesbrough. If you are going to rely on a 37-year-old, treat him with respect. As it is the signing of Slaven Bilic, subject to a work permit, means that Alvin might not be put upon for much longer.
