Shannon Westin, MD, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses a novel antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), AZD5335, for the treatment of patients with solid tumors. The primary mode of action of AZD5335 involves transporting a TOP1 inhibitor (TOP1i) payload into cancer cells that express FRα, resulting in DNA damage and the induction of apoptotic cell death. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2023 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
