Why don't you load your stove with fresh wood and kindling before you leave so you can start the fire right away when you arrive?
I would have to wait for hours before the stove is completely out and safe to reload. That would mean sitting around in the cold. I am way better off spending 5 minutes getting the stove loaded when I arrive. Much less time overall in the cold.

It's called an eco fan, and it generates its own power from the heat of the stove.
