A new leak detailing the release date of the rumored Nintendo Switch 2 was just posted online by the website Bloomberg. In their article they state that Nintendo insiders told them an upgraded next gen Nintendo Switch 2 will be releasing some time in 2021 in order to keep up with the PS5 and Xbox Series X. This new Switch will be targeting a 4K output and much higher performance.
I believe that this the Switch 2 will be based on an improvement to Nvidia's Tegra Xavier processor and will likely feature 512 Cuda cores clocked up to 1.5GHz on the Turing or Ampere architecture. It will also likely have the same 8 core CPU and the capability to leverage its Tensor cores to use DLSS (Deep Learned Super Sampling) to take 1080p and 1440p images and reconstruct them to look like native 4K when docked.
