A carburettor is a device that: - - -Prepares mixture of air and petrol in the correct proportion according to the requirement of the engine, depending on the engine speed, load etc.
-Mixes air and petrol properly.
-Evaporates petrol.
-Automize petrol.

There are mainly three types of carburettor:
Updraft carburettor, Down draft carburettor, Side draft or horizontal carburettor

The carburettor consists of the following main parts; Air horn, float chamber, float, float valve, jet, throttle valve, chock valve etc.
