Albert Frost
Albert Frost is a familiar and respected feature of the South African blues-rock music scene.
For the past nearly three decades, the energetic performances of this accomplished guitarist have dazzled audiences as he deftly alternates between rhythm and lead, while showcasing acoustic and electric guitars. His first love is blues, stemming from the influence of his long relationship with the Blues Broers with whom he performed with from 1994 to 2015.
He has recorded with Arno Carstens, Koos Kombuis, Chris Chameleon, Blues Broers and many others. He has performed with every major artist in South Africa, and with international artists like Ali Farka Toure and Finley Quaye. He has toured with Simple Minds and Rem, and supported the Rolling Stones.

Schalk Joubert

Schalk Joubert is one of South Africa’s most celebrated bassists, with a career spanning almost 25 years. He has won numerous awards for both individual performance and producing. He has worked with a very long list South African artists (including luminaries like David Kramer, Hugh Masakela and Anton Goosen), and has toured the globe with international stars like Michelle Shocked, as well as his own highly acclaimed group, The 3 Continents Sextet.

He was also the musical director for the Crash Test Dummies on their recent South African tour. Schalk is an in-demand film soundtrack composer, and as session bassist has played on some of the highest-ever selling Afrikaans albums.

Jonno Sweetman

Jonno Sweetman is one of the most original sounding drummers on the music scene in South Africa at present. His sound and approach attract attention wherever he plays and in whatever context he finds himself.

Having matriculated Jonno attained a diploma in marketing at Varsity College in Port Elizabeth. He also completed a Trinity School of Music Grade 8 for drum kit with merit. Growing up in a small town there were few traditional opportunities to study music.

In his early twenties Jonno had the opportunity to travel and was able to take lessons from some of the greatest drummers in the world. Erik Smith (Norway), Jeff Ballard (USA) and Kevin Gibson (SA) were some of the highlights for him. He remains very committed to self study and is constantly on the lookout for new study material.

He has performed at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival from 2008 through to 2013, Standard bank youth Jazz Festival (Grahamstown) and Joy of Jazz (Johannesburg) and toured Europe with Jonathan Crossley and the Kyle Shepherd trio in 2009, 2010 and 2012.

He has worked with New York-based saxophonist Sam Thomas, US guitarist and celebrated proponent of Thelonious Monk’s music, Gary Wittner, and Gordon Vernick (trumpet US). As well as Swedens’ Nils Berg, Shabaka Hutchings from the UK and Jeroen van Vliet from the Netherlands. Jonno has played and recorded with electronic acts namely Card on Spokes, Mix n Blend and Jan Galega (Switzerland).

He is also a gifted teacher and has been teaching drums part time for over 10 years.
