I had always promised myself (and Ryan) that I would be the kind of shipmate that could take care of our marine Diesel engine in all circumstances. And while I do know a lot about our engine and can troubleshoot most issues, It took me a while to get to the actual engine service. So finally, here we are!

In this video, we carry out a 1000 hours service engine on our good’ol Yanmar iron genny.

In a 100 hours service, the oil and oil filter need to be replaced, as well as the primary and secondary fuel filters. In a 1000 hours service, we also change the coolant fluid and the impeller.

So join us for what took us about 6 hours of engine work, and lots, lots of fun on the way :)
