In partnership with the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation, CHL and ACHL has held a new art program in Kempsey to help connect young Indigenous people with their Elders and culture.
Dunghutti Elder, Uncle John lead the program teaching the young people how to carve small canoes, a skill passed down for generations, with a life-sized version being put on display at the Kempsey Community Centre.
