Описание: This is one of the recordings I made of instruments in the "Made to be Played" exhibition at Torquay Museum (Devon, UK). In the siku, the notes of the scale are divided between two sets of pipes. Traditionally, there are two players for the two sets – as here – but nowadays the two sets are often played by the same musician. I found this tune in the 1980s, in a TV documentary about life in the Bolivian Andes – in the days before the internet and music/video streaming, some ingenuity was needed to access non-mainstream music. Interestingly (to me, at least) the first note of the tune is not part of the pentatonic scale.
