Long-time Webhead fans will recognize artist Mark Bagley from his record-breaking run on ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN. This series reimagines Spider-Man’s life if he aged in real-time from the moment he was introduced in 1962.

SPIDER-MAN LIFE STORY: 1 THE 60S has the look and feel of the early days of Steve Ditko and John Romita, with modern tweaks. Wonderful detail in the backgrounds and advertisements that bring the 1960’s setting to life and immerse the reader in the story. Inker John Dell and colorist Frank D’Armata give a vintage Spidey look to the issue and characterrs. It will be interesting to see how Mark Bagley and the team adjust the series visuals as we move through the decades and Spider-Man’s signature look changes with the times. Over all I found the art on LIFE STORY inspired and tip my hat to Mark bagley and crew.

Chip Zdarksy takes on the daunting task of capturing the spirit of 1960’s Spider-Man in 32 pages and telling an interconnected story that features a handful of major moments. Readers are familiarized with some terrific history Chip adds new perspective to the events. Zdarsky creates a Peter Parker centric book and most his character work is done against the backdrop of the Vietnam War. Chip Zdarksy is on top form in SPIDER-MAN LIFE STORY: 1 THE 60S and develops Peter Parker's inner-crisis and admiration for Cap throughout the issue. Chip Zdarsky goes to great lengths to ensure the war, a defining event of 1960s America, is the driving force of the entire issue. Overall, Zdarksy does an amazing job capturing several key events in one coherent story arc and capturing the essence of 1960’s Spider-Man.
