A brief note on the talk: To study the ancient history of Manipur, we need to focus on three main areas in parellel: 1) trade routes (especially the southern silk route), 2) archaeological evidence, and 3) literaly sources. This framework is not final or fixed. However, these areas provide a foundational structure, while we can also explore other topics, such as language, polo, ritual songs, and more. This lecture will provide an overview of the these three mentioned areas.
