Libbi's wish to go to Walt Disney World - Make-A-Wish Southern Florida

Описание: When Libbi was just 20 months old, she had an unusual, hard lump on her side that was quickly diagnosed as Wilms’ tumor, a form of cancer that only 500 U.S. children are diagnosed with annually. Life turned upside down as Libbi embarked on the battle of her life. A few days after her 4th birthday and several months since her last treatment, Libbi and her family were off to Walt Disney World® for a VIP wish experience that would exceed all expectations.

Libbi was transformed into a princess at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, took a horse drawn carriage ride and explored the theme parks with front-of-the-line passes. The Disney characters spent so much time with Libbi and her sister that their parents felt bad about the long line of kids waiting. Staying at Give Kids The World Village, a resort solely for wish families, and personalizing her star that will forever shine in the Castle of Miracles aside thousands of other wish kid stars are moments she will forever cherish.

Her father said, “There were many nights I stared out the hospital window and daydreamed about being at Disney World with Libbi healthy and vibrant. To be in front of the castle, watching the fireworks show, it was truly amazing. It’s almost like the fireworks show was just for our family that night.”

When Libbi was in the hospital, she would cuddle with her mom for hours, watching Disney movies over and over because she couldn’t do much else, and she didn’t want to play. Her mother said, “To physically be there during the fireworks show and see Libbi sitting on her dad’s shoulders, cheering and screaming her lungs out while singing the songs, it was just a really special moment.”

Her mother said, “We knew that a Make-A-Wish trip would be special, and this was no ordinary trip to Orlando. At one point, my husband looked at me and said ‘I feel it. I feel the magic.’ And that became our little motto to each other throughout the trip. We could feel the magic. We made memories that will impact for a lifetime.”
