Established in 1997, the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) leads, coordinates and implements activities to mitigate the threat posed by mines, explosive remnants of war and improvised explosive devices. Risk education saves lives. This video shows the work that UNMAS does to inform young people living in refugee and displaced person camps about the risks they may face when returning to their homes or even where they are living. Effective outreach depends upon gender balance.
