Fly Fishing with PE Tackle flies on the Great Barrier Reef!!

This is Aussie fly fishing the deep reefs off Mackay, fishing 50 metres plus of water for prized reef fish. Red Emperor are one of the most prized reef fish, and Michael catches a monster 10 Kg + Red on a Green Goblin fly and was the best fish of the trip.
These artificial flies come in a great range of styles and sizes and are worth giving a go when fly fishing the reef, and proving to be that extra bit of bling you need to help catch a quality big Red Fish.
These flies were great and easy to use when fishing, in this video they were used on a Paternoster rig, and I prefer to use on the top hook. Gets them up of the bottom a bit, and lets the fly move aroung alot more. It also pays to spice them up with some bait, and would recommend some nice fresh squid, or flesh on the hook, Makes for a great bait, and helps catch those larger quality reef fish. These fly's work well with Trevor and Michael getting a good variety of reef fish in the video including Coral trout, Big Nannygai, couple of Red Emperor and a nice trevally. top morning fishing session, and that was slow.
The red zebra fly set us a Shrimp rig, was also another great fly, and looks the part, landing a nice trevally at the end. These are some great flies made by PE Tackle and are well worth a go next time out on the reef or deep sea fishing. Just google PE tackle and you'll be on there website in no time.
