How did Puerto Rico and the Philippines, despite both becoming US territories after the Spanish-American War, end up in different politic positions, especially since Puerto Rico is still a territory?
Thesis
Puerto Rico and the Philippines ended up in different statuses
because of the difference in culture, activism, and perception of the countries.
