Nicola visited Specsavers in Merthyr Tydfil after she suffered spasms in her leg and developed vision loss and headaches. An eye test showed abnormal pressure on her right eye and she was referred to hospital for MRI scans. The scans found that Nicola had a tumour on the membrane between her skull and brain, the majority of which was removed in a seven-and-a-half hour operation.
