January 19, 2026, Nest Cam 1
F23 is on the nest with E26. At one month old, E26 is now moving grass and objects with beak, preening, warbles, and little wing flaps. Today the eaglet bites on a pinecone, moves some nest material with beak and then starts nibbling on the duck carcass. Mom notices and decides to remove it. When F23 grabs it and starts pulling it away, E26 takes it back. Tug- o-duck ensues, but in the end, Mom wins and moves it to the other side of the nest. Thanks for watching

This nest is located in North Fort Myers, Florida. They usually lay eggs in November, and eggs typically begin hatching in December. This is the third season with the new female F23, whom M15 chose after longtime mate, Harriet, disappeared in 2022 leaving behind 2 eaglets which M15 successfully raised by himself until they both fledged.
