Rick Simpson's Klammer - Surreal Estate

Описание: Here's the closing track from the new record 'Klammer', and my personal favourite.

It's a through-composed juggernaut that slides from uplifting Brotherhood of Breath inspired major key warmness, to modern classical intricate ensemble playing and then ending in a long, brooding climb to a climax which brings the record full circle to it's first piece, Pins.

George Crowley is heard soloing here soaring above the ensemble, augmented by some harmonium padding underneath lively backing figures played by Michael Chillingworth and Ralph Wyld, whilst the churning rhythm section of Dave Hamblett and Tom Farmer propel everything forward.

This was the last tune that I wrote before going into the studio and this one really came together last minute after I panicked that it might not!

George had the great idea of using Alex Bonney's Ekdahl Moisturizer spring reverb to add mist over the saxophones during the ending section and it adds a mysterious layer to the music.
