American saxophonist Ben Wendel, known from the band Kneebody, recently appeared with Seasons, a remarkable video series on YouTube: 12 duets, composed for and dedicated to 12 musicians he admires, released over 12 months.
Ben Wendel is a versatile musician, who effortlessly switches between tenor sax and bassoon and from jazz to classical music, funk or West Coast hip-hop. He was born in Vancouver, raised in Los Angeles and is currently living in Brooklyn, New York. Alongside jazz musicians such as Antonio Sánchez and Tigran Hamasyan he has collaborated with, among others, Prince, Snoop Dogg and producer/beat maker Daedelus.
