From day 10-12 we travelled from Piazza Armerina to Nicolosi, for visiting Mount Etna the most nearby town on the South side of the Etna. We stayed at the Etna Hut, a comfortable hotel "with a view" in Nicolosi. The owner provided us with the right information for visiting Mount Etna. We went by car to the cable-station, that brought us half way. From there on we took a truck to reach the top, where a guide was waiting. Beautiful scenery, used as background for movies like Star Wars. On the top it was windy and cold. The snow smelled like sulphuric acid.From mount Etna we went to nearby villages en further on to Taormina on our way down south to Avola. Filmed with Panasonic SD900
