Note DME's after 2020 cannot be unlocked and require the ECU going to FEMTO for a hardware unlock.

BMW (and Toyota, for the Supra A90 owners) F/G series MG1 may have their ECU's locked from the factory or via updates which prevents them being tuned via the OBD port. Many of these cars are tuned Via OBD with Software like Bootmod3 or MHD. So in Order to use OBD tuning software the ECU needs to be unlocked.

This software will allow you as a tuner to offer this service which companys charge around 200euro per DME unlock.
The procedure requires a full Bench read from your tool, load the Irom into the Software, perform the unlock Patch and Write the file back to the ECU.
The Unlock is Applicable to many cars such as Supra A90, BMS M340I M2 M3 M4 F80 F82 F83 F87 F90 M5 with MD1/MG1 ecus
Some firmware versions of MEVD17 S55 can also be patched for obd unlock.

Software Solutions such as VMAX, Stage1, pops, CAT, EVAP, will be made available in future releases for dependant SW versions

You can also open an MEVD17 MG1 eprom, and the App will attempt to decipher the ISN numbers for the DME and EGS. The function will provide hex addresses to Check in a hex editor to confirm these are correct.
This function is very helpfully when security ISN keys are needs for coding new modules or keys for example. VIN can be edited for all eprom types, working hours reset coming soon.
