Описание: National Security Innovation Forum highlighted how essential research and innovation, and industry–academia collaborations are to advancing Canada’s national security priorities.

The day began with a forward-looking keynote by Defence Research and Development Canada | Recherche et développement pour la défense Canada on the future of defence innovation. This was then followed by a rapid-fire Research & Innovation Spotlight showcasing four University of Ottawa researchers innovating in sectors of strategic importance to Canada and national security.

▪️ Panel 1 dug into quantum, cybersecurity and secure communications — areas where hashtag#uOttawa and Canada as a whole are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

▪️ Panel 2 shifted to action, exploring how academia and industry can better align and co-develop technologies, sharpen IP strategies, and build the talent needed to deliver mission-ready solutions.

The program concluded with an excellent fireside chat that reinforced the critical role universities play in powering Canada’s defence innovation ecosystem and how the NCR is excellently positioned to lead a defence innovation hub.

The day also included an Exhibitor Showcase, where local companies and organizations demonstrated technologies and services already moving the needle for security priorities. There was also strong representation from University of Ottawa colleagues across various faculties and units, showcasing how they can support partners and drive continued impact.
