Project Status

Initially slated for completion by May 31, 2025, the project has experienced multiple delays due to factors such as a National Green Tribunal ban on winter construction to control pollution and design modifications. As of June 5, 2025, the Noida Authority has announced a revised completion date of July 31, 2025, with pending electrical work cited as the primary reason for the delay.

Current Challenges for Commuters

In the absence of the previously dismantled temporary walkway, commuters are compelled to traverse the 400-meter stretch between the two stations on foot. This path is fraught with broken footpaths, encroachments, and obstructions from e-rickshaws and autos, making the commute particularly challenging during adverse weather conditions.

Additional Concerns

Beyond the physical connectivity, commuters face issues such as the lack of integrated metro cards between the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), necessitating separate tickets for each line. Furthermore, the entry to Sector 51 station is through the rear, as the front side has been leased out for commercial activities, leading to congestion and unregulated auto parking.

Project Features

Once completed, the skywalk will feature travelators and air conditioning, aiming to provide a comfortable and efficient transit experience for commuters. The project, costing approximately ₹26 crore, is being executed by the Noida Authority.
