FFXIII | A Tale of Two Sisters

It's done.

Oh my god.

IT'S DONE.

It feels so, unbelievably satisfying to have this out of my in-progress folder and into my complete pile. Holy shit, this has been sitting, undone, getting on-and-off attention, since... last year? I am SO HAPPY to have finished it!

Okay, so it's been done for about a week now, and I'm actually really, super proud of it. And I was terrified of actually uploading it just because I was so proud of it. Terrified for various reasons - what if YT fucks up the quality; what if it blocks the song; what if this; what if that. So, I've been clutching it to my chest like a stress pillow for a bit but, now that October's over and so are all my life's distractions, I summoned up the courage to set it free.

To conclude, this is the direct result of my not being able to come to terms with the fact that the XIII saga is over. And Farron feels ;_;

(For theGMVAwards Canon Justification: Rather than try encompassing the vast whole of Lightning and Serah's relationship, I decided to draw on one characteristic they share, and attempt to magnify it. And I chose that focus to be their determination towards finding each other in XIII & XIII-2. If any aspect of their relationship totally defines the two of them, I think it would be that. Despite all the grief Lightning gives Serah about being a l'Cie, and regardless of all the doubts Serah might have had in herself prior to meeting Noel and going into the Historia Crux, their devotion to each other gives them the strength to move past their insecurities and save one another. They're each others only family and their resolve towards being together again is unquestionable by anyone. None of the other characters dare to tell them it's a fruitless effort, because it's just a universal fact that they WILL find each other. In their minds, there is no "maybe." They will find each other, no matter if it takes tearing down a planet or shattering Heaven to do so.

That's what I tried to convey in this video, paralleling both Light and Serah's journeys in each game towards reuniting. And I honestly don't think there's a better song out there to describe them than this one. :)
