Until 900 AM EST.

At 812 AM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line
extending from 7 miles north of Sandyville to 6 miles south of
Barboursville, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts
up to 35 mph.

SOURCE...Radar and webcams.

IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 117 and 150.
Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 22 and 48.

Locations impacted include...
Nitro, Ripley, Spencer, Winfield, St. Albans, Hurricane, Ravenswood,
Milton, Eleanor, Buffalo, Poca, Ona, Sandyville, Culloden, Tornado,
Cross Lanes, Kenna, Teays Valley, Bancroft, and Athalia.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.

Reduce speed and turn on headlights! During snow squalls, the
visibility may suddenly drop to near zero in whiteout conditions.
