A comparison of multiple pickup settings using D'Addario XL Chromes flatwound and D'Addario XL Black Nylon tapewound strings. Disclaimer: the Chromes were a couple of years old while the Black Nylon strings were a little over a week old but had been played vigorously during the break-in period so there might be less treble in them had they been as old as the Chromes.
Setup:
-Ibanez SRF 705 Portamento prototype bass
-Kustom DE50 amplifier XLR line out
-Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB audio interface
The only audio mastering performed was normalizing in Adobe Audition.
