Описание: Five days after nine miners were trapped in an abandoned coal mine in Assam's Dima Hasao district, rescue operations are ongoing. While four bodies have been recovered, five miners remain trapped. Over 100 personnel from the Army, NDRF, Air Force, and Navy have joined the efforts to rescue them. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that the mine, once operated by the state department, was abandoned 12 years ago. Rescuers face a major hurdle: 100 feet of water inside the mine. Currently, five traditional pumps are being used to drain the water as operations continue.
