At the IDB, we work alongside countries in the region to confront organized crime through regional cooperation, institutional strengthening and effective responses.
That’s why, a year ago, we launched the Alliance for Security, Justice and Development—a bold commitment to achieving this mission.
What have we accomplished so far with the Alliance?
✅ 22 member countries and 12 strategic partners working across borders.
✅ $550 million in approved loans for prevention and dismantling of illicit markets.
What are we working on now?
Projects to strengthen the region’s prison systems, prevention strategies, and public safety.
A Rapid-Response Task Force of international experts to provide rapid response to member countries facing security crises.
