Описание: Ignition timing and tuneup basics for BMW M10 engine in my 1971 2002. I go over the tune up tasks you must complete before setting timing, including gapping the spark plugs, setting the dwell, and adjusting the valves. Then I describe the timing marks on the engine which are present on the flywheel, the timing chain sprocket, and the crankshaft pulley, and that those various marks mean. I describe setting initial timing at idle, how to measure advance using the timing advance feature of your timing light, and how to set total advance. In the next video I will demonstrate mapping your ignition timing curve and various timing methods discussed in the BMW shop manual and on 2002faq.com
