From the Mulino training ground near NATO’s borders, Russian President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin oversaw the active phase of the joint strategic exercise Zapad-2025 — the final stage of joint training for the Armed Forces of Russia and Belarus.
The massive drills, held from September 12 to 16 across 41 land and sea training grounds, involve 100,000 troops, 10,000 units of equipment, including 333 aircraft and 247 naval vessels.
Putin declared: “We will defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Union State against any aggression.”
Representatives from 25 foreign delegations attended, including six with military contingents, highlighting the international attention on these high-stakes maneuvers.
