“How to genuinely make a pizza with interactive sound” - concise version
a sonic-gustatory-visual experience

Concert Program
You are invited to sit back, observe and listen to the evolution of a sonic-cooking evolving process.
The composer-performer is presenting an instructional video of cooking a pizza interacting with an autonomous music algorithm of a complex feedback network.
You are encouraged to attempt using your autonomous sensory responses into a complete audio-gustatory experience.
A set of microphones are set up to listen very closely and to record every micro-movement of the cooking performance. From preparing the ingredients, kneading the dough, to cutting vegetables and herbs or tasting the resulting meal – all sounds of the cooking process are fed in real-time into a naively intelligent autonomous algorithm. The algorithm sonically analyses and reinterprets every sound to an extended sonic reality, an interactive sound results as a complex reflection. Every sound and gesture is interconnected into a complete sonic-gustatory performance, tickling and teasing those senses of the auditor.
This is a new version more concise, sensory packed and fast-paced, specially prepared for the online version of the Festival “Expresiones Contemporáneas”, Mexico City.

Phivos-Angelos Kollias – Interactive Composer


Interactive music composer / researcher / developer based in Berlin. Phivos-Angelos Kollias is focusing his creative interest in applying innovative technologies into music projects performed by musicians and algorithms for Interactive Music Performances, Virtual Reality Installations and Video Games. His music background is rooted in instrumental classical studies, including a PhD in interactive music composition (University Paris VIII), yet his music taste ranges from electronic music, rock/metal to noise and experimental music. He has studied composition in Cambridge (BA), London (MA) and Paris (PhD & DEA & MA) with the economic support of four foundations, and he currently lives and composes in Berlin. His music has received seven awards and nine nominations in international competitions, while the group projects he has participated in have won ten awards and distinctions. He has participated in several projects presented in festivals and museums such as: BFI London Film Festival, IDFA, National Museum of Berlin, National Palace Museum of Chiayi/Taiwan etc.
