Sundarbans is a mangrove area in the delta formed by the confluence of the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna Rivers in the Bay of Bengal.
The Indian Sundarbans were considered endangered in a 2020 assessment under the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems framework.
Despite preservation commitments from the governments, the Sundarbans are under threat from both natural and human-made causes. In 2007, the landfall of Cyclone Sidr damaged around 40% of the Sundarbans. The forest is also suffering from increased salinity due to rising sea levels due to climate change and reduced freshwater supply.

The Sundarbans provides a unique ecosystem and a rich wildlife habitat. Tiger attacks were historically common in the area, and are still frequent in the Sundarbans.

In this video, the activities of Rhesus macaque and Chital / Spotted deer is documented. Primarily how the Chital deer survives - Primarily the beautiful action to stand on two legs to reach out to the leafy branches.
