During the week of May 15 to May 21, 2016, Georgian Rail Video Productions took leave, and headed for the Big Easy.
In New Orleans, Louisiana, we see operation and calliope concerts from three different riverboats, two steam powered, and one diesel powered.
We start off with a Historic Battlefield Cruise aboard the Creole Queen.
Then we see a calliope concert from the world's largest steam powered riverboat, the Str. American Queen.
Then over the course of the next few days, we ride aboard the Str. Natchez, constructed in 1975, using engines from the steam towboat Clairton. We go aboard Natchez (the ninth riverboat to bear that name) for a harbor history cruise out into the port of New Orleans.
We also see both the Natchez and the Creole Queen from the river bank, so sit back, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of riverboating on the Mississippi River
