⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Ad-Hoc Operation: R46s Return to the A for a few days!

Описание: Here's a fun special! This video shows R46 subway cars operating on the A line following their official final scheduled run on April 17th, 2025. While that April 17th trip marked the end of regularly-scheduled R46 service on the A line, this footage shows them back in A service for a few days in late May under unique circumstances.

As mentioned in our previous video, the possibility of R46s making an ad-hoc return to the A line due to extenuating operational circumstances came true on May 19th, with the return of service to the Rockaways and the concurrent use of some R211s and R179s for CBTC testing.

This video documents this short-term unscheduled return to the A line on an ad-hoc basis. It is expected that the R46s will be removed from A service and returned to their current standard assignments imminently, as they are not formally intended to be used in regularly-scheduled service on the A. Going forward, R46s will continue to operate on the Rockaway Park Shuttle and the G, N, Q, and W lines as they near the end of their service lives, unless future extenuating circumstances warrant, of course! Such is the reality of railroading.
