Today, the Congress won Karnataka's assembly election, while the BJP won the municipal election in Uttar Pradesh. It's a historic mandate for the Congress Party, which has won over 136 seats in the 224-member assembly. A comfortable majority of the party sealed the deal in the southern state. It means that the BJP has lost its southern stronghold. In Uttar Pradesh's municipal election, the BJP won 98 seats, while the Congress got only 48 seats.
