If you are looking for guidelines on how to figure out which colors go well together, this video will introduce you to two color schemes that you can follow and use with any colors to create a cohesive look in the interior design of your home. You'll learn about the characteristics and color theory of the monochromatic and analogous color schemes, both of which could be referred to as related color schemes because they are unified by having a color that relates to all of the other colors. You'll discover interior design tips on how to use each of these as guidelines to coordinate your choice of colors in a room and how to ensure that your color combination is dynamic and interesting. I'd love to hear if you have a monochromatic or analogous color scheme in your home. Please share your color scheme and other ideas in the comments.

The etymology of the words monochromatic and analogous that I mention are from
Merriam-Webster dictionary.
Explanations of Interior Design Concepts and Design Terms Discussed in This Video:
ANALOGOUS COLOR SCHEME - A color scheme, traditionally with three colors, where you begin with a central color. Then you refer to a color wheel to find the colors that are on either side of the central color. Those two colors are the related colors, meaning that each of them has that central color in them. Those three colors together create an analogous color scheme.
COLOR SCHEME - Template or guide on how to choose colors that go well together.
COLOR TEMPERATURE - How we perceive a color to look either warm or cool. In general, examples of warm colors include yellow, red, and orange, and examples of cool colors include blue, green and purple.
COLOR WHEEL - A round, wheel-shaped graphic or tool to see the sequence and relationship between different colors.
MONOCHROMATIC COLOR SCHEME - A color scheme based on one color and different variations of that color. A neutral color scheme is an example of this type of color scheme.
SATURATION - How much color is in a color. The more pure a color is, it will be more intense and saturated, where as if a color has less color in it, it will be less saturated and less intense.
VARIETY - An important part of the interior design principles where we want to create a balance between contrast and repetition.
