In this guitar lesson I'm taking one of my all-time favourite solos by Steve Lukather (A Clue) for a spin and then breaking it down. Luke is one of the absolute masters of playing the right thing over often complex chord changes, and this solo is a fantastic example of this. Something we guitarists often struggle with is balancing scale knowledge with playing musically and with taste! This short solo can teach us a huge amount about how you can simplify playing over 'jazzy' chords. There is a bit of theory however - don't neglect this, as this is one of the pillars of being able to do this successfully.
The original song by Boz Scaggs is obviously copyright material so I can't monetise the video in the normal way, nor publish the solo TAB (I don't have the licence), however you can help support me by any of the methods below!!
