Innovation has always been at the heart of humanitarian action. Working in insecure and ever-changing environments, humanitarians have long relied on creative solutions to navigate constant challenges and balance risks over opportunities while providing services that are efficient and effective. Today, as the humanitarian system faces a massive legitimacy, funding and morale crisis and pressure to reset, the need for bold, scalable innovation has never been bigger.
In this “Out of the Box” online discussion, we explore how lessons from past and present innovations can shape a humanitarian reset and, at the same time, inform Germany’s new, incoming government. Spencer Huchulak, ‘Gbenga Sesan and Alsanosi Adam share their insights and practical examples on what it takes to reinvent humanitarian action at scale.
