Welp, getting the win on the same attempt you reached a new phase is certainly a first. Didn't really know how to cut it so I just left that one in. Between Whirlwind's damage and ability to dodge some of the ground explosions (or maybe all but I didn't find the right timing) and Flash Cutter's ability to nullify some of the big attacks as well as close the gap, the Dual Wield set definitely felt to me like it had the best tools for dealing with this guy.
You'll notice I have a couple of Epic rarity items since those start dropping in the last mission. Since I got one piece of the Bloodthirsty Fiend I assume that farming the whole set before killing the boss is possible, but that's also very boring.
