In the bedroom of a boy named Andy, his Toys Rex and Hamm watch an advert for the video game Verum Rex. Sheriff Woody walks by and they spot some strange masked figures. These figures turn out to be Heartless, as Sora, Donald, and Goofy discover upon arriving in the room. After defeating the Heartless they’re approached by Rex, who mistakes them for Verum Rex’s main character Yozora. Sora introduces himself and they learn that they have become toys.

Woody tells Sora that a lot of the other toys normally residing in Andy’s room, as well as Andy himself, have disappeared right around the time the Heartless started attacking. Buzz Lightyear, still among the group of toys, adds that a man in black appeared at around the same time. Everyone agrees to work together and heads to his last known location, Galaxy Toys.

Arriving at Galaxy Toys, the man in black, Sora’s old enemy Xehanort, makes himself known. He explains that he split Woody and Buzz’s world in order to learn more about it. After this, he sets a large toy robot piloted by a Heartless on the group. Sora finds another robot and pilots it in order to defeat the enemy.

Buzz is still suspicious of Sora, Donald, and Goofy, but Woody tries to put his mind at ease. There isn’t any time to worry about it right now, as the toy soldiers assisting the group inform them that Rex, Hamm, and a group of green aliens are all missing. Searching the toy store, Woody spots Rex. They’re attacked again but Rex manages to help defeat their enemy.

Hamm has been seen in the Toddler section, so the group head there to find him. Their only clue being music, Sora and Woody help start up a toy orchestra. They discover a soldier in a tuba, but he lost Hamm’s location. Pressing forward, they discover Hamm trapped in a dollhouse. While the house is small, Hamm’s kidnapper is not. Defeating the kidnapper, Buzz worries about everyone else ending up fighting each other. Woody does his best to reassure him that won’t happen.

Spotting a flying saucer, the group follow it and discover the aliens being taken captive by it. With everyone rescued, they decide it best to return to Andy’s room. Rex is missing from the roll call, however, with one soldier saying he was spotted in the video game section. They find him there with a copy of Verum Rex, whose main character does indeed resemble Sora. With everyone together at last, they begin their return home.

The group doesn’t get too far, as Xehanort reappears and has a Heartless turn Buzz against them. He also throws Sora into the Verum Rex video game world with a group of Heartless. Upon defeating the Heartless and escaping the video game, Sora learns that Buzz has disappeared into a dark corridor. The soldiers have found the entrance point, so everyone heads there to rescue him.

Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Woody enter the dark corridor and discover Xehanort waiting. They claim that their friendship is stronger than any darkness and manage to dispel the corridor and Xehanort’s hold over Buzz. Xehanort disappears and everyone leaves Galaxy Toys. Sora apologises for not being able to reunite everyone, but Woody and Buzz are prepared to wait however long it takes thanks to the help of the new friends they’ve made.


Join Sora, Donald, and Goofy as they help Woody, Buzz, and the other toys to find their friends.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is an action role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix and released in 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One.
