Rocker cover gasket leak is quite common on bmw engines.
It is quite straightforward to replace the it. As long as you have the required tool ready with a bit of passion, it is doable.
Simple steps
Remove the top engine bay plastic covers, remove engine cover, remove all the wires from injectors and coil packs, remove the o2 sensors bracket, remove the engine breather pipes, remove positive wire t30 bolt and push the wire aside, and remove the vvt sensor seal from the rocker cover. Then, start lossen the rocker cover bolts. Make sure all bolts are undone.
Use screw drivers to remove the cover carefully. Inc cover is removed, replac seal.
