Secrets of MCC AIQ Seat Allotment Process Revealed - NEET Counselling

In this video, I am going to explain the secret behind the allotment process followed by medical counselling committee based on last year allotment data for All India Inst of Medical Sciences.

There are two ways seat allotment can be done. One method is based on preferential reservation allotment. in this method if meritorius candidate say all india rank 100 who belongs to a reserved category is given seat under his/her reserved category. 1 seat will be reduced from that reservation category and no change in seat will happen under general category. MCC follows this method of allotment.

The Next method is called meritorius earmarked allotment. In this method, the same All India Rank 100 candidate is given option to choose seat either under General Category or Reserved Category if seats are available in both categories. Irrespective of whichever category he/she chooses, that Reservation category seat can be opted by the next Candidate in that Category list. This is called Earmarking allotment. In effect, 1 seat is reduced from the general category seat and 1 seat is added to the respective reservation category. Maharasthra, Tamil Nadu are few other states follow earmarked allotment during counselling.
