In der Passionszeit erinnern wir uns an die letzten Worte Jesu am Kreuz.
Eines davon gehört zu den bewegendsten Sätzen der Bibel.
Ein Verurteilter, der neben Jesus stirbt, sagt nur einen einfachen Satz:
„Jesus, denk an mich, wenn du in dein Reich kommst.“
Es ist kein großes Glaubensbekenntnis.
Keine theologische Erklärung.
Nur eine letzte Hoffnung – im Angesicht des Todes.
Und Jesus antwortet mit einem Versprechen:
„Heute wirst du mit mir im Paradies sein.“
Aus diesem kurzen, stillen Dialog ist mein neuer Song entstanden:
“Remember Me Today”.
Ein Gospel über die Hoffnung, dass kein Mensch vergessen ist –
selbst im letzten Moment nicht.
Heute hat dieser Song für mich eine sehr persönliche Bedeutung bekommen.
Ein guter Freund von mir, Holger, ist heute viel zu früh gestorben.
Während ich diese Worte höre und singe, denke ich an ihn.
Und ich halte mich an diesem Satz fest:
„Heute wirst du mit mir im Paradies sein.“

✝️ A dying man whispers: “Jesus, remember me.” – And receives the greatest promise a human can hear.
During the season of Lent we remember the last words Jesus spoke on the cross.
One of them may be among the most moving sentences in the Bible.
A man dying next to Jesus says only a simple line:
“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
It is not a great confession of faith.
No theological explanation.
Just a final hope in the face of death.
And Jesus answers with a promise:
“Today you will be with me in Paradise.”
My new song “Remember Me Today” grew out of this quiet dialogue.
A gospel about the hope that no human life is forgotten —
not even in the final moment.
Today the song has taken on a very personal meaning for me.
A good friend of mine, Holger, passed away today far too early.
As I sing these words, I find myself thinking of him.
And I hold on to that promise:
“Today you will be with me in Paradise.”
